Around 25% of the heat in your property will escape through an uninsulated loft.
Save energy and keep your valuable heat in for longer!
We use Knauf Loft Roll 44 (glass mineral wool roll), an insulation material specifically designed for use at ceiling level in cold lofts. It’s non-combustible, long-lasting, and made with up to 80% recycled materials.
Knauf uses a unique bio-based binder that holds the insulation fibres together, which makes the insulation exceptionally easy to handle. This has the long-term benefit of making your loft a much more usable space, thanks to:
The binder – Knauf’s ECOSE® Technology – is also made from natural and renewable raw materials, and is 70% less energy-intensive to make than traditional binders.
Before our team starts work, they will run through what they’re going to do, just to make sure it’s in line with what you’re expecting. They’ll then make sure your floor coverings are protected, before completing the necessary checks relating to ventilation, electrical cables and downlights. Once this is complete, they can begin fitting the recommended two layers of insulation in your loft, to a depth of at least 270mm.
The first layer is laid between the ceiling joists and will be at least 100mm thick. The second layer is laid at right angles to the first, and will be at least 170mm thick. The thicker the second layer is (and the more layers we add) the more energy you’ll save!
The last stage of the process is to upgrade the insulation of the pipes and tanks in your loft space, and insulate your loft hatch.
Our loft insulation is always installed by our own trained and certified specialists who will fit your insulation to the highest standard. With that, you can expect it to last for up to 40 years, paying for itself many times over.
Our surveyors, site supervisor, and senior installers, are all qualified to an NVQ standard, so you can rest assured that all works will be completed with technical competence, timeliness, and professionalism.
