Great British Insulation Scheme and ECO4

Do you qualify for a grant towards home insulation?

You could receive a grant towards home insulation, depending on the Council Tax band of your property, its Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) band, and your personal income and situation.

The Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS), which used to be known as ECO+, and ECO4 are UK government-backed energy efficiency schemes, designed to help people lower their energy usage, save money on fuel bills and reduce carbon emissions. These grant schemes are open to qualifying householders whose home needs an energy-efficiency upgrade, such as cavity wall insulation or loft insulation, and apply to one insulation upgrade per home.

ECO4

You may be eligible for the Energy Company Obligation scheme (currently ECO4) if you or someone in your household receives certain benefits. You can’t apply for the ECO4 scheme directly, so you’ll need to get in touch with your own energy supplier to find out more.
