Viridian’s commitment

With the beginning of a new year, we at Viridian are reflecting on our exciting, challenging and inspirational hard work in 2024 not only in the field, but also in the domain of charity. As a company it’s in our blood to strive and provide value not only to homes, but also to people’s lives outside of our corporate responsibilities.

The Kent Charity Trek and Kent Search and Rescue

Last spring our brilliant team of 12 took part in the Kent Charity Trek which offered a fresh challenge not only for our company, but also individually for all our enthusiastic participants.

The Kent Charity Trek is an initiative by Kent Search and Rescue (KSAR), which is a charity itself, that helps Kent Police look for missing or vulnerable members of the public and rescue them to a place of safety.  Viridian’s participation and support of their cause has refreshed our commitment to activities that matter outside of the board room with a positive and meaningful impact on our community.

The trek took place on May 18th, 2024, and participants had to take on the challenge of trekking 25 or 50km. Excitingly, KSAR was not the only active charity during the event. Organisations, such as Abigail’s Footsteps, The Young Lives Foundation, and many more also had representatives trying to raise awareness and funds for their own selfless causes.

The challenge and Viridian’s achievements

The Historic Dockyard in Chatham marked the beginning of our challenge. Participants had the option to trek 25km which would lead them to Maidstone, or 50km which finished in Ashford. Our team proudly crossed the finish line and received well-deserved medals for our efforts in both distances. Seeing the smiles of our beneficiaries at the finish line turned this into a truly worthwhile experience.

This event allowed us to raise funds and awareness for a charity with commitment and invaluable dedication to society. Thanks to the collective efforts of our participants, Viridian is proud to have raised over £1,200 that have gone directly towards Kent Search and Rescue.

We look forward to continuing our support of Kent Search and Rescue and their mission, as well as many other charities throughout 2025. If you’re interested in learning more about the Kent Charity Trek or supporting KSAR directly, visit their dedicated pages below.

In the meantime, Viridian is excited to be planning our next charitable adventure in 2025!
