Three Consecutive Years of Trekking. First-Time Corporate Sponsors for the Kent Charity Trek

What is the Kent Charity Trek?

Organised by Kent Search and Rescue (KSAR), the Kent Charity Trek brings together businesses, individuals and charities from across the county for a breathtaking challenge through the Kent countryside.

Starting from Fort Amherst in Chatham, participants take on either the 25km or 50km route, all in aid of supporting vital charitable and community causes. Those who choose the shorter route finish their trek at White Horse Wood Country Park in Maidstone, while people who take on the 50km challenge are expected to reach Eastwell Manor, all the way in Ashford.

At Viridian, we’ve always believed that success as a business should go hand in hand with making a positive impact within the communities around us.

While our commitment as a home insulation company is to help households improve energy efficiency and reduce costs, we also recognise the importance of stepping outside the boardroom and actively supporting the people and organisations that make our local communities stronger.

That’s why we were incredibly proud to participate in the Kent Charity Trek for the third year in a row – and this time as a corporate sponsor!

Looking Back on Our Experience

Over the past three years, the trek has become far more than just a fundraising event for our team. It has become an opportunity to reflect on how far we’ve come as a company, the relationships we’ve built, and the values that continue to drive us forward.

Each year has brought new faces, new challenges and new achievements, but one thing has remained constant – our commitment to giving back.

For the first time, Viridian was also able to support the event as a corporate sponsor for the charity trek goodie bags. If you participated this year, you would be able to see our logo on the bag you were given at the end of the challenge!

Being able to contribute in a bigger way like this reflects the growth of our company since 2024 and our desire to deepen our involvement in meaningful local initiatives. Supporting events like this is something we value greatly, and we hope to continue expanding our contribution in the years ahead.

Beyond our sponsorship, we also managed to collectively raise £525, beating our original target of £500 for our small team of participants. We are thankful for the incredible generosity of our team, supporters, friends and families in helping us reach our fundraising goal. Every donation helps support the ongoing work of Kent Search and Rescue and the many people who rely on their services across the county.

The Importance of Our Community

The 2026 Kent Charity Trek once again reminded us how strong the power of community can be. As a local business, seeing organisations, charities, and volunteers come together for a shared purpose highlights the role companies can play beyond their commercial commitments.

We believe Viridian’s role extends beyond our responsibility as an employer or service provider; we are dedicated to driving change as active participants who can help drive positive change.

At a time when many interactions happen through screens and meetings, events like the trek provide something genuinely valuable: real connection, teamwork and shared purpose. Stepping away from the office environment and working alongside others in the local community is something that benefits everyone involved.
