The Energy Price Cap in April 2025 – it keeps rising!
Ofgem – the UK energy regulator – has made an unnerving statement about the long-awaited Energy Price Cap update in April 2025.
With the ever-increasing energy prices from wholesalers, the cap has been raised further by 6% compared to the previous period.
From 1 April to 30 June 2025 the price for energy will be capped at £1,849 annually for all dual-fuel direct debit households, compared to £1,738 in January.
Rising temperatures, rising bills?
With the Energy Price Cap set to increase yet again in April 2025, households across the UK will still face tough choices when it comes to their energy consumption.
With energy prices rising, it’s not just your bills that will go up – all other energy-reliant costs will increase too (this is virtually everything)!
Ensuring your home is fully and correctly insulated can negate these additional costs.
While it is common for many to only worry about soaring energy consumption during the winter months, it is wise to invest in insulation now because you will benefit from lower installation costs. That is because material costs are set to rise once again in July 2025.
Home insulation – your long-term savings solution
Around 25% of heat will escape through an uninsulated loft, while 35% of it will escape through the walls.
For that reason, having cavity wall insulation and/or loft insulation installed in your property offers a myriad of benefits. For example, it is one of the simplest and most effective ways to boost your home’s EPC rating and its value while making sure the property remains comfortably warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
What’s the best way to prepare for the rise in energy prices? Get your home insulated now and take control of your home comfort and energy costs before the changes take effect.
